Hey folks, I had heard much about this interview and I decided to watch it after it was mentioned in class last night. I think especially his concluding remarks were great, but like the authors of the articles below, I almost quit at his opening sentence. Also I like that he labeled the media’s representation of the downtrodden as “emotional porn,” which is basically what we IMA’ers do, amirite? hahaha

Hello folks, after Monday’s meeting, I wanted to share this article about possible reasons the youth movement has a lesser presence than previous decades. What do you think?
Hello all, I’m not sure if this article is sociological, but I wanted to share. In it, Lakoff “updates” his theories on how (presidential) language relates to war and ultimately results in the justification of many deaths. This is pretty dense, but I would be interested in hearing what the sociologists think of it.
